captures the sacred stillness just before revelation—the quiet moment where presence is felt, though nothing has yet been said.

Emerging from layered shadow and softened light, the owl stands as a silent witness—watchful, grounded, and deeply aware. It exists in that in-between space where darkness is not empty, but full… where something unseen is near, steady, and certain.

This piece reflects the gentle truth that even in silence, we are held. That before clarity comes, before light breaks through, there is a presence that watches over us—unwavering, constant, and unseen.

It is in this stillness… that we are known.

In the very first layers, I wrote their names — John and Matthew.
Their wedding date.
The day they moved into their home.

While the paint was still wet, I folded those words into the composition — binding them between washes of ivory and tides of blue. Hidden, yet forever present. Not visible to the eye, but essential to the soul of the piece.

Now their story rests beneath every petal, woven into the movement, fused into the flow.
They are not only collectors of this work —
they are part of its foundation.

“Speak Your Freedom” was originally headed in a completely different direction - until a comment from @shananigans711 inspired me to pivot, trust the pull, and let it become the horse it was meant to be. That shift changed everything. This piece became about strength, movement, and the wild courage it takes to use your voice.

To the incredible collector who brought this home- thank you. Thank you for connecting with the story, the transformation, and the freedom woven into every layer.

And Shana... thank you for being part of the spark that shaped this piece.

While animal subjects aren’t typically where my heart lives, this piece challenged me creatively and taught me a lot. Not every painting has to be your favorite to be meaningful—and I’m already grateful for how this program is pushing me outside my comfort zone and shaping me into a stronger, more well-rounded artist.

As part of my Black Sheep Series, I signed my name backwards—an intentional act of honoring the parts of myself that never quite fit the mold, yet led me here.

The abstract background holds the history: layered, restless, unapologetically imperfect. From that movement, new florals emerged—soft but resilient—shaped by the master class in abstract florals through the Milan Art Institute. What began with technique started to became intuition, allowing the florals to surface organically rather than be forced.

This series is about choosing your own language, trusting your inner rhythm, and allowing beauty to rise in unexpected ways. Sometimes the most honest growth happens when you stop trying to belong and start listening instead.

Introducing the “Black Sheep Series”

I am dyslexic. Long before I had the language to name it, art became my voice.

By second grade, written language felt elusive—letters refused to stay still. They shifted, reversed, and danced across the page. Writing was not something I could access in the prescribed way, so I adapted instinctively by drawing letters instead. In my mind, language existed as shape, movement, and form rather than sequence. What I could not articulate as a child, I now understand: my brain processes text from right to left, with letters appearing reversed.

The Black Sheep Series emerges from this lived experience. In this body of work, I write and sign my name exactly as I have always seen it—backwards, right to left—honoring my natural perception rather than correcting it. This act is both personal and defiant. Learning to read and write “the right way” required relentless effort and remains a daily negotiation. Even with familiarity and sight recognition, comprehension carries a deeper complexity that is rarely visible from the outside.

Growing up in a generation where learning differently was labeled a disability, I internalized the idea that my way of seeing was something to overcome. Through this series, I challenge that narrative. These paintings reclaim dyslexia as a distinct visual language—one rooted in intuition, adaptation, and resilience.

This work celebrates the beauty of being the black sheep. By exposing my name as I have always known it, I invite viewers to reconsider what it means to read, to understand, and to belong.

finishing up this year with a painting that feels fitting as it took many journeys to find its place. i love this painting most, simply because i had a fit with it. it took its time when i was impatient. i am so thankful for this year and what it has taught me. much like this painting, this year took its time but taught me so much patience in healing.

Sometimes keeping the color palette minimal allows for a greater expression to shine through with little glimmers of gold. Really have to keep that focus in the new year. Don’t over complicate life and leave room for glimmers. ✨

2025 artwork recap: In the last two days of 2025 I sold two paintings! This is my biggest highlight! You never know how your art is going to be received, especially after taking a 27 year hiatus of intentional art work. Sure, I had a few paintings here and there but none that felt “authentic”. As we head into 2026 my focus is to allow my art to continue to grow, develop, and evolve into my recognizable style. Goals will be adding in different medias. I am so incredibly thankful for all the support. And as I am completely new to the social media “content creating” game, I am so thankful to this amazing #artcommunity that continues to inspire and truly support one another. Cheers 🥂 2026!!

Paint something “ugly”. Destroy a piece that drains your energy. But do it with conviction!!”

totally overworking this canvas, i allowed myself to flow into the “ugly”. so much harder than it looks. i do not like this piece. it drained my energy over 3 days. but i learned to let go of so much. thankful for this journey.

background: using the collection of paints that have been blown off, spilt, tilted, and spun off from other artwork. the large poppy was a “emptying out” of colors and cell activators previously mixed for other works. super anxious to see how it dries. 🫣this is piece is unfinished. (as with so many others lol)
i’m excited to add gold leaf. it will be the only non up-cycled medium used. second video coming soon.

fluid art, pour techniques create a lot of waste. in efforts to keep waste low, i scraped and saved the overflow paint. this “waste” is from two paintings. honestly was not sure what to expect. i knew the paint was thicker from having set for a couple days. poured onto a painted canvas, then stretched. I love the way it moved slowly and gave its own unique shape.
